If you plan to live, work, retire, or seek employment in Cambodia, enter on an Ordinary Visa (E-Class) for $35 USD, never a Tourist Visa (T-Class). The E-Class grants an initial 30 days and is the only category that can be extended indefinitely inside the country for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. Submit your mandatory free Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before landing.
What Is the Cambodia Ordinary Visa (E-Class)?
The Cambodia Ordinary Visa—formally designated as Visa E (Ordinary)—is the fundamental entry visa for anyone moving to Cambodia beyond a 30-day holiday. Despite its simple name, it is the primary gateway visa for foreign workers, entrepreneurs, remote freelancers, and retirees.
A frequent misunderstanding among first-time arrivals is confusing the E-Class Visa with an electronic visa (e-Visa). An e-Visa simply refers to an online application method. In contrast, the Ordinary Visa is an official immigration classification. You can secure an E-Class visa online or directly at immigration counters upon landing in Phnom Penh (PNH) or Siem Reap-Angkor (SAI).
